Sharing the Spirit – ICT Software For Everyone in 2007
Greetings and Happy New Year to everyone! I would like to share my personal goals and dedications for iFOSSF in 2007, these goals can only be achieved through the help of my team and the community, I welcome your thoughts and actions.
- Evolving the iFOSSF web site as a resourceful Knowledge Base for stakeholders searching for relevant guidance, trends and opportunities for FOSS adoptions. We will achieve this by encouraging community self-help whereby thought leadership will be identified to sharing experiences, creating useful ideas and strategies, open for all to learn and benefit from.
- Identification of relevant critical programs with both short and long-term partner-lead projects that will revolutionize the FOSS Ecosystem anticipated within the next 2-4 years; this will be achieved through
- FOSS Education & Research Initiative to devise a set of FOSS Qualification and Certification Programs
- Collective Intelligence Initiative evolving and developing an ICT/FOSS "Community of Experts" to strengthen and lead iFOSSF outreach
- iFOSSF Leadership Initiative to develop a global "FOSS Partners and Leaders in Service Network" to develop and lead iFOSSF programs globally
- Cultivating and showcasing success stories including work-in-progress as means for Social and Economic empowerment through FOSS.
- In management, we will build a strong volunteer workforce that is driven by individual excellence, mutual respect, cooperation and a passion for technology promoting global sharing.
- Last but not least, the above dedications will help us build a concrete trusted brand to receive the resources and sponsorships required to achieve our mission by promoting an open and inclusive process.
iFOSSF was envisaged as a result of our strong sense of responsibility towards humanity. Our existence as means to fulfill it, but our existence is not a few individuals. It is to be cultivated because of an Ecosystem that needs YOU and YOUR support as well as contributions in any form you deem helps return what this world has shared with and given to us.

You had a post about Transparency in South Asia, where do you see the root issues are? is it the lacking of information access? or the freedom/ability to express? I came from Eastern Asia myself, believe a lot has to do with local culture as well ... would like to hear your thoughts. Feel free to continue the discussion on your initial thread or start a new one.

There are poweful forces dividing humanity on various issues. Net result are local, global and cosmic anxieties. Bringing humanity on one forum is very important. Cyberspace can do that. It can help identify the problem and reach resolutions. It can bring about order and diminish chaos. It can bring about the cultural fusion. But dividing forces don't want it to happen. These forces are pushing individuals apart by creating artificial price for interactive access. From a PC to internet there are visible and hidden costs which people in far flung areas on planet can't afford. For instance in my area Credit cards are not available so it means I can't enjoy access to online education, entairtainment or information because many if not all web sites require dollars for access. ITTASKFORCE conducted many extensive studies and in short finds the solution. One price for one device that provides interactive facility to all.

this confirms our thinking and why this place exists. The issues that you described are something I was not aware of before i met with Fouad online, something we took for granted as part of our daily life in most of the western countries. Perhaps we can have you share some of your findings and solutions.
