Thank you to everyone who has expressed an interest in Cultural Fusion and/or Oci Novosti.

We're now seeking partners to develop local Oci Novosti magazine projects.

The idea we're inviting input and feedback on is for a contest to introduce the project. Oci Novosti means Eyes News which is community, regional, national or even international news seen through the eyes of artists. The contest involves finding an image that would be regarded as or represents a problem in the community and then frame some part of it to find or create an image of beauty.

Essays, poetry and mixed media works exploring this concept are all welcomed. One thing that is needed are sponsors for the contest to contribute gifts and prizes for winning works. We can invite people in the community (online and offline) to log on to cast their votes.

This is a great project for communities seeking to take initial steps toward cohesion, exploring democracy at the grassroots level, informing about issues impacting those typically ignored, to generate ideas to tackle community challeges, and to develop public-private partnerships that can leverage existing resources. 

The magazine can be delivered in print and digitally with a small subscription fee as a fund raiser for local arts organizations to provide discounted or free classes to talented students. A scaled down digital version can be delivered for free as part of the Cultural Fusion newsletter to promote specific magazines with geographical focus. This is one CRM Strategy that can work for NGO and nonprofits as well as promote private partnerships that emerge to support these projects at the local levels.

Once we can get a few local implentations on a small scale we can work as a group to seek funding for this as an international magazine with grassroots focus...expanding to other forms of digital distribution.
